Bobbi Carrey, Brian De Lorenzo, Jan Peters, Celia Slattery and Steve Smith

Thinking about making a CD, but don’t know whether you’re ready, or how to start? And what to do with it once you’ve got it? Join a panel of local cabaret artists moderated by Celia Slattery as they discuss the ins, outs, ups, downs, joys, perils and pitfalls of producing and marketing a CD (including why you should never, ever schedule a CD release concert before you have the CD in your hand). Join panelists Bobbi Carrey, Brian De Lorenzo, Jan Peters, and Steve Smith for a lively panel discussion co-sponsored by the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education.

This practical course will demystify the business of performing and give you the information needed to be more effective with the non-performing aspects of your career - creating a business card, developing a mailing list, generating contracts, maintaining a web site, using a sound system, filing taxes, creating a demo or CD, obtaining copyright permissions, sending out press releases, networking, and more.
