ONE SONG AT A TIME

I dreamt up the project “One Song at a Time,” in July 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, as a way to connect with friends everywhere. By intention, and a little happenstance, the songs all reflect our challenging times.

The plan was to release “One Song at a Time,” every three-plus weeks, to a curated e-mail list as well as to a number of social media platforms. By the time I shared Track 8 with my list, it was clear that this open-ended and ongoing project would evolve into a CD and live production.

Using story and songs such as “Moon River,” Georgia on My Mind,” ”Over the Rainbow,” and We’ll Meet Again,” the show “One Song at a Time,” will explore one hundred years of American life and culture during periods defined mostly by hard times.
